  5. From the Navy Hymn (Eternal Father Strong to Save):

    O Trinity of love and power!
    Our brethren shield in danger’s hour;
    From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
    Protect them wheresoe’er they go;
    Thus evermore shall rise to thee
    Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

    With high respect for your love of God, country and Corps!

    Semper fi,

  11. My love and respect for David began when he was in grade school. David was a few grades behind me when we went to Itasca. Even at that early age, I knew of no one as brave and dedicated as David. I loved and respected both David and his father, and they both will be remembered warmly. Lynne and all his family will be in my heart and prayers.

  17. Lynne and Brian,
    David had to give up his earthly journey way too soon but he handled his illness like a champ. He kept his sense of humor and tried to make each step down easier for those around him. It takes one brave person to be able to do that, especially through such a horrible illness.
    Lynne, I admire him for always taking care of you, he always had your back, no matter what.
    David helped me many times through the years but I shall never forget him helping me move my mother on those cold days when I didn’t have anyone else to help. That meant so much to mom. She and David share the same birthday, Oct. 9th.
    I am so glad he got to live in North Carolina ,and to take Andrew to see that part of the country. He loved David dearly.
    My heart breaks every time I think of the emotional and physical suffering he had to endure. I love him and he will always be my brother-in-law.
    Lynne, I admire you for taking such good care of him and having him at home. You are a special kind of nurse. I will be here if you need me.
    Love you.
