  15. As first cousins growing up in a family with so many first cousins and being 10 years my senior, we did not see much of each other. Although this remained true over the years we knew we were connected and were proud of it. My mother made sure of this as she mentioned you, your parents and your siblings to me many times. Rest now cousin until we meet again.

  23. Dear Big Brother, Thank you for all you have done for me over the years–all the love, encouragement, patience and generosity — and the good memories –everything from bringing your family to spend Christmas and other holidays in Waco, to taking me to a fireworks show and the zoo in Ft. Worth as a child, taking the whole family to Corpus for an unforgettable weekend when I was 14, trips to the lake–and your visits to Las Vegas when we lived there. I will never forget the look on your face when you invited us to have brunch at the hotel and I had just recovered from breast cancer and you were amazed I still had hair! And I can’t forget the stories(aka tall tales!) such as the 4 pairs of Aggie boots hanging at our house! The last Peevey reunion was priceless–you were so kind to drive to Waco in the first place and then to purchase the portrait of the Peevey home place for me when you saw I was eyeing it! You just taught me how to enjoy life! It was fun growing up with you even though you were already an adult when I came along! And thanks for naming me! You were so very courageous the past month and a half and I am so proud to have you for a big brother! You have been a blessing to me and I am missing you!! Love, Marilyn
