William Darrel Parks
William Darrel Parks passed away on July 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 30, 1936 to Robert and Johnnie Belle Parks in Ryan, OK. He proudly served 4 years in the US Marine Corps from 1953-57 during the Korean War. Service: will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 8 at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park on Crowley Rd. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 at Mayfield Kiser. Darrel was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Vera Streater Parks. Survivors: 2 sons, Johnny (Cindy), Steve (Barbara), daughters, Lori Halfmann(Duane) and Shari Parks. 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was a member at Lane Prairie Baptist Church in Joshua. He never met a stranger and was loved by all.

  1. Uncle Darrel, you’re loved by many and missed already. I pray your journey was fantastic. I know you’re in the presence of many that you love that made their journey before you. I can believe you are surely having a grand ole time. When dad left us, it was like pop without the corn. Now it’s popcorn with loads of butter in heaven for you and your siblings, Aunt Vera, friends, family and fellow Marines. Rest easy. I love you dearly. You were always there, when many were not.
