When I think of my Great Aunt Vi, I think of how pretty she was, how pretty she always looked and dressed, and how pretty she always smelled. She was both pretty inside and outside.
May it be a great comfort to you knowing your Mom is with our Savior. The many years she spent in teaching and training not only herself, but the many she touched on the misson field as well as her own family should give you assurance she is safe. I’m praying for your family as you gather together.May God’s grace give you peace. Love, Linda
MI MEMORIA VA A MIS 9 ANOS DE EDAD CUANDO HICE PARTE DEL CORO MELODIAS Y VOCES DE JUBILO EN LA PRIMERA IGLESIA BAUTISTA DE CALI, COLOMBIA, EN MIS ANOS DE ADOLESCENCIA.
HOY COMO MISIONERO A PARAGUAY, CON LA IMB, DIGO QUE ESA ENTREGA , AMOR POR LOS COLOMBIANOS,Y DEDICACION AL SENOR FUE LA MARCA
QUE QUEDO GRABADA EN MI CORAZON!!
VIOLETA, NOS TOMASTE LA DELANTERA AL LUGAR DONDE UN DIA NOS REUNIREMOS. NO ES UN ADIOS, PERO SI UN… HASTA LUEGO!!!
Vi was our neighbor here in Cali,Colombia. Meeting her in the late 60’s,knowing her, sharing musical events with her has all had a lasting effect on mine and on so many lives. Her deep and sincere love of the Lord was her very essence… Her love for Don,an example to us
Don, Ed and I just returned today from a three month trip in our motor home and Ed just got the computer going again. We were so very sorry to learn of Vi’s death. It was such a shock! I had e-mailed Vi prior to our trip and had a sweet reply. I am so glad we had re-established contact with you two recently. I was so looking forward to visiting with you the next time
We praise God for rememberances of Vi and what a blessing she and Don have been to our family throughout the years. It was always a special time at Greenwood Baptist Church when Vi and Don were home on furlough and then we were blessed to have them live here in their retirement years.
If there ever was a couple that was bonded as one I would pick you and VI. Might seem strange to your family or maybe others but I always thought of Vi as being comical and even Kathy agreed as we are writing this that she also remebers VI’s personality and something about when she was talking or telling a story you seem to start smiling.

When I spoke by phone with Vi last week, she commented she was not going to try to sing in the choir any more as it was so difficult to navigate the steps.
Vi was a very unique person. She was always so helpful in planning our programs for our Primetimers’ group. She will be missed very much. We loved to hear her sing (along with Don). She had so many talents. When Bill Howell and I met this afternoon, we remarked how we would miss her many good ideas. She was truly an example of a Christian lady.Everytime we had a day trip for our seniors, she was always ready to go. We’ll miss her, but heaven will gain someone special.
Dan’s mom called with the sad news of Aunt Vi’s passing Sunday evening. We last saw the Orr branch of the family at a reunion in Texas in 1990, and Rick visited us in Sacramento when we were newlyweds in 1976. Dan’s mom, Cherry, is the youngest of 8 children, and Vi’s dad was the oldest. How the generations in this family overlapped, grew, spread across the land, but stayed in touch with one another’s lives through the older generation!
As I post this, Dan is writing his many warm memories of the family into a card and putting it into the mail to you. It meant a lot to him to see the photos contained here, and walk down memory lane a bit.
Our warmest sympathy to Don, Randy, Rick, Roger and Roxanna. May our Lord grant you an extra portion of His grace at this moment and in the following days.
WE HAVE BEEN THINKING OF SO MANY GOOD GOOD TIMES WE HAVE HAD TOGATHER WITH YOU TWO .OUR HEARTS ARE SAD TO HERE OF VIE’S PASSING ON BUT WE KNOW HEAVEN HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE ADDED TO IT’S CHOIR .

We are so thankful for Vi, and for the blessing she has been to us, along with Don, on furloughs and in the Missionary Fellowship meetings.

Roxy, we are so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom.
Don, our love to you and your family.
We just wanted to let you all know that we are praying for your grief.
I was saddened to hear of Vi’s homegoing, not for her for I know she is rejoicing with our Lord, but for myself and you, the family.
Grandmom will remain in all of our hearts.
