Dear Stacey, Ursy was always a dear friend. She would ask me to spend the night with her when we were in high school and before we went to bed, we all knelt in the living room and her father led us in prayer. When she had her tonsils out, her father had passed away at their home. I stayed with her at the hospitalwhen they had his funeral services and we talked of all the things we remembered doing. After we graduated she went to Dallas and worked and I stayed in Paris. When she came home to Bogata to visit her family, she would always come by and get me in her Studebaker and we would go to the Owl Drug Store and get a coke. I didn’t know how to drive at that time and didn’t have a car. Sometimes we would run into a man who was in our class and we would have fun telling stories. Over the years we did not always stay in touch. But we did get to share our heartaches and goodtimes. She never complained and was always there to cheer me up. She was always caring and had a great sense of humor. I gave her a phone number of one of our classmates she had not talked to in a while. She said when she called, our friend asked who is this and she said “Ursy” and the friend said Ursy who. Ursy said to her how many Ursy’s do you know. We had a good laugh. She was one of a kind and we will all miss her. I’m sorry she was in bad health for so long, but we all know she is not in pain and can breath and is in a better place. I miss her. I hope you will keep in touch, and if I can do anything for you and your family please let me know.

Memorial Service, a celebration of my mother’s life, is scheduled at Alsbury Baptist Church in Burleson on April 5th at 11 am.
