Suzan Alene Hohman was born August 6, 1963 and passed away January 27, 2024. She was the daughter of Alvin E. Hohman and Merlene Martin Hohman. She grew up in Farmers Branch, Texas. Suzan attended Davidson College in North Carolina and Pepperdine University in California. Suzan resided most of her adult life in Encinitas, California. Suzan loved the beach and ocean. She was an accomplished open ocean swimmer and water polo player. Suzan was an avid bird watcher and supporter of wild birds. Suzan is survived by numerous cousins and friends. Suzan will be interned at Holly Springs Cemetery in Nevada County Arkansas alongside many family members.

I just learned of her passing in the Hockaday magazine. Blessings to the friends and family that knew her. I did not know her well; but, my dad and Al were best men in each other’s weddings and my parents dined with Merlene and Al often. Al was a great friend of my father’s.
Suzy and I met at Pepperdine in the early 80’s. We lost contact after I graduated and she headed to UCLA. We reconnected in 2020 after thirty some years and kept in touch ever since. I had not heard from her since last December 31. I am heartbroken to learn she is no longer with us.
