Scott James Sneyd
Scott James Sneyd, 51, of Dallas, Texas, died July 2, 2011, from natural causes, near his home in Lancaster. He was born on December 30, 1959 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Charlotte and Jim Sneyd, and graduated from W.T. White High School in 1978. Scott was passionate about motocross, music and an avid supporter of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved animals, particularly cats, snakes and arachnids, and will be remembered for his charm, keen intellect, resourcefulness, and hard work ethic. Scott displayed creative genius in all that he touched, in particular his ability to diagnose and develop innovative repair for mechanical equipment on a shoe-string budget. He worked for the Kroger Company in Dallas and Houston for over 25 years and held a series of retail positions following his career with Kroger. Scott had a long-term relationship with Chiquita Poff with whom he had two sons, Christopher James and Clayton Wade. Scott is survived by his mother and father currently residing in Douglasville, GA; his sister, brother-in-law, and niece, also in Douglasville; daughter Samantha Jo who resides in Ohio; and sons Christopher and Clayton living in Texas. Scott was cremated in Dallas and a private memorial will be held in Douglasville to honor his life. Donations may be made to any local SPCA to help animals at risk and in need.
