Keene–Funeral services for Robert Gaston “Shorty” Barron, of Keene will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Buel Baptist Church with Pastor Carr Parrish officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday at Concord Cemetery, in Chandler, TX. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, February 20, 2004 at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home, Cleburne. Mr. Barron, a retired steel worker, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 in Cleburne. He was born June 29, 1913 in Chandler, Texas, the son of Robert and Janette (Bradford) Barron. He had been a deacon in the Baptist Church for over fifty years and at the time of his death was a member of Buel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Barron and his second wife, Effie Langford Barron; he was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Judy Janik, six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by daughter, Peggy Walker and husband, Roy, of DeSota; son, Bob Barron and wife, Betty, of Alvarado; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Buel Baptist Church Building Fund.
