Robert G. Denney, MD
Robert Gordon Denney, MD age 85, passed away on February 5, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Robert was born in 1936 in Regina, Saskatchewan Canada to William G. Denney and Irene Elsom Denney. He lived in Regina and then Ottawa, Ontario attending medical school at the University of Ottawa. Upon graduation in 1964 he immigrated to the United States (Detroit, Michigan) where he completed his medical training in Psychiatry at Wayne State University. He served 2 years in the US Army from 1968-1970 at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. Upon leaving the Army in 1970 Robert spent the remainder of his medical career in private practice and public psychiatry in various locations including El Paso Texas, Carlsbad New Mexico, Tyler, Texas and finally in Fort Worth Texas where he served as the Medical Director of Trinity Springs Pavilion – JPS Health Network. During his time in Fort Worth Robert pursued a Master of Medical Management (MMM) from Tulane University to help him become an accomplished physician leader. Robert retired in 2002 to Tucson, Arizona where he spent many enjoyable years living in SaddleBrooke. He also lived in Fort Worth, Texas and Eureka Springs, Arkansas during his retirement years. Outside of his work as a psychiatric physician, which was his passion, Robert enjoyed lap swimming, scuba diving, watching sports (football and hockey), dining out, and flying model airplanes. During retirement Robert also had a passion for RVing in the great Southwest. Robert’s favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William Denney, MD who was also a psychiatric physician, and two children (Francesca Denney and Gregory M Denney). Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Ann Denney, his daughter Heather Denney Cine and spouse Donald Mark Cline of Bryan, Texas, his son William Campbell Denney of El Paso Texas and two grandchildren. There are no plans for a memorial service at this time.
