Renee Emma (Landwehr, Lotz) Murphy
Murphy, Renee Emma (Landwehr, Lotz) age 92 of Corinth, Texas, formerly of Minneapolis, MN. Passed away peacefully on February 23, 2020. Renee was born 11/29/1927 in St. Cloud, MN to parents Edward and Sarah (Marx) Landwehr. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers Dalbert, Elmer, Alvin and Raymond Landwehr; husband Patrick Murphy. Survived by children Donald Lotz, Cynthia (David) Ritchey, Francey (Mike) Tinsley, John (Natalie) Landwehr; sister Dolores Steffes; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Corinth Rehabilitation Center, 3511 Corinth Pkwy, Corinth,TX March 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM, attention Josie Landwehr. Please wear blue, which was Renee’s favorite color. Private interment at Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN Renee was raised on a farm in Motley, MN during the depression years, then in St. Cloud, MN where she graduated from Tech High School in 1946. Renee then received her comptometer operator certificate, which led to a life-long career in office work until her retirement from Sears in 1989. Renee’s most important job was being a mom and grandma. She taught by example to work hard, be organized and give of yourself. Renee loved the outdoors and took her family on picnics, fishing and camping. Renee loved to sew and knit and she was a do-it-yourself person who could figure out most things. She was also huge into volunteering at church, the Minneapolis Boy’s Club, Solo Parents and in later years, knitting prayer shawls. The family would like to express its deepest appreciation to the caregivers at the Corinth Rehabilitation Center, Brookdale Hospice Care Team and to granddaughter Josie Landwehr for their loving care of Grandma.

Ms. Murphy was a truly remarkable lady and will always hold a special place in my heart and the heart of every staff member that had the pleasure of taking care of her and being around her during her time at Corinth!
