Ramona Kay Honan
Ramona Kay Honan was born 9/23/48 in Oklahoma City. She passed on 3/28/20 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her sister Sharon and her best friend Joy were by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Kathryn Lauderdale, and her husband and love of her life, Dave Honan. She attended L.D. Bell high school in Hurst, and graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth with a business degree that enabled her to work several jobs…she was a teacher at DeSoto high school, a part time and substitute teacher for Duncanville high school, and a part time business instructor at El Centro College in Dallas before she settled and retired after many years from the United States Government in the Social Security Administration, which she really enjoyed. She loved dogs and cats and had many over the years…these were her “children” and she adored them. She loved to quilt and made many beautiful ones over time. She liked to travel and really enjoyed the casinos! She had such a fabulous time, and did a really fantastic job, being on the committee to “find alumni “ from the class of 1966 for her 50th high school class reunion, that she had soooo much fun at! She loved the “Chicks of 66”” gatherings and all the “girls” in that group! She and Dave so enjoyed, and had their best times, using their season tickets and going to the auto races at Texas Motor Speedway, and went to EVERY one they were able to! As a matter of fact, Ramona honored Dave’s wish to have his ashes be buried in his metal Dale Earnhart lunch box next to her at Bluebonnet Cemetery in Colleyville, Texas!!!!
