  1. To the Family of Mildred Gibson,

We wish to extend our sympathy and prayers for you in the death of your Mother and grandmother. My mother, Anna Laura Jaynes McKinney, and your Mother were friends from their days in Johnson City many years ago. In fact, my mother remembers double-dating with your mother and their dates. Your Mother and my Mother kept up correspondence for many years and even had visits when your Mother was home on leave. I still have a doll that she brought back to me when they were stationed in Netherlands Antilles. She was so interesting to listen to as she would answer my questions about the schools and places that she taught. She left a marvelous legacy in her children as well as the many lives she touched as a teacher and a missionary!

My Mother is a resident at Appalachian Christian Village in Johnson City.

She is in good health and is 92 years young. Her short term memory is not intact, but we praise God that she enjoys the many activities offered at the Village .She, like your Mother, serves as a wonderful role model for their love and life in the Lord.

May your many good memories and the love of our Lord help sustain during the coming months and years.

    Sincerely,

Anna Laura Mckinney and Carol Slagle
