Michael Wayne Stults, AKA Poppy. Age 71, of Rio Vista Tx, passed away June 26, 2023 after a long battle of COPD and Emphysema. He was surrounded by his loved ones when he went to be with the Lord, Kourtney Stults McGee, Justin Skipworth, Kelley Thomas, Stephanie Hobbs and Warren Thomas. Michael was born August 25, 1951 in Weatherford, Tx and preceded in death by this father Thurman Henry Stults and mother Ruby Lee Stults. Michael was a loving generous father and grandfather. He has two sisters, two brothers and two children of his own; Kelley Thomas and Stephanie Hobbs. As well as three grandkids; Johnathan Stults crisp, Kourtney Stults McGee, and Brandon Stults, as well as 11 great grandchildren. Michael never met a stranger as he had many lifelong friends. Everyone would know when he was in the room as he lit it up with his presence and smile. Michael loved his family & friends dearly. Michael was a hardworking man; driving trucks and digging pools before his illness if he wasn’t working. You could always find him on the lake fishing and hunting, and as he would say: cracking a cold one. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Memorial will be held Saturday, July 15 at 3 PM at 108 S. Line St., Weatherford, TX 76086. Afterwards we will be going to Granbury Lake to spread his ashes.

When Mike was around I could always count on his smile and conversation. He was a great friend and fishing buddy to my brother.
