Maurice Cole Guidry, affectionately known as “Mo,” passed away surrounded by his loving family. Born in Crockett, Texas, Mo was the spirited and beloved youngest child of Wilson and Lucille Guidry. His early life in Grapeland, Texas was filled with activities ranging from baseball to theatre, showcasing his diverse interests and vibrant personality. Mo’s professional journey as a nurse was marked by the same passion he brought to every aspect of his life. Whether engaging in a lively conversation, imparting wisdom, or navigating his career, he did so with an unmatched zest. Mo was not only known for his charismatic and athletic demeanor but also as a sartorial icon, never missing an opportunity to showcase his style on the dance floor or while perfecting his swing on the golf course. A devoted father to three children and grandfather to two grandchildren, Mo’s legacy is reflected in the lives of his family who admired his intense love and dedication. Mo is also survived by Wilson, his dog, who was one of several dogs that Mo had throughout his life who he loved like family. Family, to Mo, also included all of the kids that he had the privilege of coaching over the course of many years. Mo is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Lucille Guidry, and his sister. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and the belief in the potential of each person he encountered. His family extends a heartfelt thank you to the caretakers and friends who provided unwavering support through his later years, especially as he faced cognitive changes with courage and dignity. Mo’s life was a testament to living genuinely and passionately, leaving a profound impact on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
