Our beloved Mother and Grandmother Mary T Stelter passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2017 after battling a recent illness. She was 87 years old. Mary was preceded by in death by her dear son Nicki Boddie, her parents William C Thompson and Eula Thompson and her husband of over 50 Years Walter E Stelter who passed away in April of 2013 as well as other siblings many friends who loved her dearly. Mary was born in Shreveport Louisiana where she met Walter (Red) Stelter while he was at Barksdale Air Force base. Later they were married and moved to the Dallas, Texas area when she pursued a career in Property Management. She proudly worked in Property Management for over 35 years even working part time well into her retirement years. Mary was beautiful, kind, very understanding and a true lady. She had a sense of humor that touched everyone. She is known by family and friends for her amazing cooking and hosting endless family get togethers. She loved traveling with her friends, and her daughter, dancing with her husband, mentoring and nurturing her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Kendall K Morrison and son in law Charles J Akers, Her son William Thomas Boddie and daughter in law Gail Boddie. Her nephew Sterling Embery, her twin grandsons Richard VandeCarr and Ryan Vandecarr and his wife Meredith Aldrich, granddaughter Savannah Morrison and her great granddaughter Sydney VandeCarr. Following Mary’s wishes she will be cremated and family will celebrate her life having a private remembrance at a later date.
