Margie Louise Ford, born July 25, 1929, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, in Arlington, TX.
Born and raised in Godley, TX, Marge attended college at the young age of 16 at the University of Texas. She graduated from Wesleyan College, Fort Worth, Texas, with a B.S. Degree. She then went on to get M.Ed. and Ed.D. degrees at the University of Oklahoma.
Marge was passionate about education and worked both with students in the classroom and in curriculum and educational development. She taught in public schools in grades K-12 for over twenty years. In the latter part of her career, she worked as a lecturer and an administrator in instructional development in community colleges and the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
It was at one of the Kansas City community colleges where she met the love of her life, Carroll Price. They were married in 1977, and lived a rich, active and happy life together until he passed away in 2020.
After Marge and Carroll retired, they moved to Port Isabell, TX. There, Marge returned to her other passion, art. Her artwork brought her tremendous joy. She developed a beautiful unique style with watercolor and paper collage in her pieces, which were shown in many galleries and art exhibitions.
Marge was an amazing woman, with extraordinary strength and a thirst for life. She had many impressive accomplishments during her life, especially for a woman of her time. She made many loving friends everywhere she lived, including in her church community.
Marge is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan Ford and Scott Powell; her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Katrina Ford; her grandson and his partner, Kelsey Powell and Christi Jordon; and her great grandson Landon Bacon; She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll; her parents, Ruby and Cecil Dollar; and her siblings, Cecil Jr., Stella, and Gordon. We loved Marge dearly, and she will be missed by many.
