Lonny Edward Brooks, born July 5, 1968 in Denver City, Texas, passed away on July 1, 2022 in Weatherford, Texas, at the age of 53. He graduated from Mineral Wells High School and went on to work a few jobs before he found his dream job. Lonny attended the Fort Worth Police Academy and worked incredibly hard to become a police officer – and what an amazing one he was. The stories were endless and will be long remembered by those who knew him. He always said he should have written a book. Oh how we wish he had! In addition to helping people any way he could, his hobbies included camping, fishing, and sitting by just about any body of water talking to just about anybody who was with him. He never met a stranger. Lonny is preceded in death by his father, David Edward Brooks, grandparents Lela and Roger Brooks, Esther and LC Todd, Hassee and Lloyd Horn, and cousin Dion Conde. Lonny is survived and lovingly remembered by his son, Chase Brooks, daughter, Allison Williams and son in law, Josh Williams, grandsons Jackson and Luke Williams, mother, Sue Horn, stepfather Bruce Horn, brother Brian Brooks, sister in law Leann Roberts, nephew Layne Brooks, niece Katelyn Ewalt, and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins. His memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Willow Park on July 9th, 2022 at 10am. The church is located at 601 Ranch House Road, Willow Park, TX and Pastor Jonathan Mansur will be officiating. Lonny will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
