Linda Solberg
August 2nd, 2023 – Linda Solberg died after a hard-fought battle with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. She passed away peacefully in her home with her husband and daughter by her side.  She was born December 7th, 1949 in Denver, CO. She is survived by her husband Ken Solberg, her daughter Laura Davis, and two granddaughters Madison and Avery. During her childhood, Linda moved around to several different states with her family due to her father’s engineering career.  She spent her middle school years in Portland, OR and her high school years in Bellevue, WA where she formed strong bonds with friends.  After graduating college at Washington State University, she and her husband settled down in Castle Rock, WA to start a family and had their only child, Laura.  Linda was an active member of the community.  She worked for nearly 30 years in the Castle Rock School District, serving as an elementary school counselor known as the Friendship Lady, leader of the Middle School Knowledge-Bowl team, and ended her career as the Middle School and then High School Librarian.  She also chaperoned several trips of school kids to Washington DC and France.  Church was also a very important aspect of Linda’s life and she served in many different ways throughout her 40-year membership at St. Paul Lutheran, including Sunday School teacher, Confirmation teacher, and on the Church Council. Shortly after the birth of both their granddaughters, Ken and Linda decided to spend more time near their daughter’s family in Fort Worth Texas, which involved buying a home there. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Castle Rock, WA on Saturday March 9th 2024 at 1:00pm Condolences for the family may be offered on her online obituary at or sent directly to the family.

  2. Ken and Laura,
The world lost a beautiful soul when Linda died. She had fought bravely to beat cancer, but in the end God gave her peace by calling her home. We had formed a close bond of friendship and shared experiences, and I will miss her the rest of my life. My deepest condolences to you both and your husband and daughters. She was so proud of both of them; they brought her so much joy.

  4. I am so sorry for your loss. She was an amazing person to have known. I was in high school when she was there as our librarian. She was always so kind and helpful. Even offered advice on what to read next. I’m very lucky to have known her for the short time I did, even at a young age.

  8. We are so sorry Linda passed. She battled her cancer in such a brave and sincere way. She let her Christian faith show through. I was glad for the times I was able to spend time with her as an adult as well as a child, I do remember that she really liked “The Brothers four” music group. For the young ones reading this, they were a 60’s group . I was young at that time and in awe of my cousin.
Ken and Linda, I know she will not be forgotten. Our prayers are with you. May God bring you happy memories of your times with her to help you through this. Love you.

We knew Linda for just a few years having worked with her in Worship Committee at St Paul Lutheran in Castle Rock WA.
She was one of my first friends there and found a small church directory for me so I could get to know people easier. Her ready smile and helpful ways were a blessing to us both. We did lots of texts and she was much faster in writing them. I will miss the sharing we were able to do thru writing.
May God bless and keep Ken, Laura, Ben & her beautiful granddaughters, Madison & Avery.
Gods love shined through Linda. She is cherished by all who knew her.

  10. Ken, Laura and family,

Your beloved Linda touched the lives of many in Castle Rock Public School and in her St. Paul congregation, especially the kids and parents. Linda’s warm personality, teaching style, encouragement, and genuine care brought the best out of many students through the years.
Linda and I served as co-leaders of St Paul’s confirmation ministry for many years. Her work as a teacher was very effective and sharing her faith in Christ was a marvelous witness to every student in the program
Our hearts go out to you as you grieve your loss.
