Lena Rida Hasselquist Hartmann Krist
Lena Rida Hasselquist Hartmann Krist, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, 92, went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Jan. 13th. FUNERAL: Fri., Jan. 18 at 10 am in the chapel of the Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home; visitation will be Thurs., Jan. 17th from 6-8 pm. MEMORIALS: Any memorial gifts can be given to the family for designation. Lena was born October 30,1920, in Mt. Morris, Wis., to Alfred and Martha Hasselquist, the fourth of eight children. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, her first husband, Robert Hartmann of 17 years, and second husband Rev. Harvey Krist of 13 years. She lived most of her life in Wisconsin until she married Rev. Harvey Krist in 1982 and moved to Flint, ML After Harvey died in 1995 she lived in Northville, MI and then moved in with her daughter Debra, Canton, MI; in 2005 she moved to Burleson, TX to live with her daughter Janice and husband Gary; in 2010 she moved to Midlothian to live with her son David and his wife Sue who returned from the mission field in Albania to take care of her during the last years of her life. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible, her family and was great at Scrabble, Jeopardy and crossword puzzles. The family rejoices in the fact that our beloved Mother is now in heaven with a host of family and friends. SURVIVORS: Her eight children: Diane Holmes and husband Fred of Beacon, NY; Janice Smith and husband Gary of Burleson, TX; Linda Hartmann and Debra Hartmann of Canton, MI; Rebecca Krist and husband Phil of Shelby Township, MI; Thomas Hartmann and wife Darlene of Bellevue, WA; Robert Hartmann and wife Tammy of Belton, TX; and David Hartmann and wife Sue of Midlothian, TX; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Carmen Smith, Hot Springs Village, AR and brother Donald Hasselquist, Mt. Morris, WI. Special thanks to Family First Hospice of Ennis in the care of our Mother and our family.
