BURLESON — Kristy McMinn Werner left this world to join her Heavenly Father and her dad in Heaven on Saturday May 4, 2014. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Alsbury Baptist Church in Burleson. Interment: 2:30 P.M. Tuesday in Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home in Burleson. Kristy was born on September 16, 1966 to Cecil and Janelle McMinn in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School and received her Masters degree in education from Midwestern State University. Kristy was a devoted mother to Hannah and Caleb, a wonderful daughter, sister and friend. Kristy touched many lives and hearts through Holy Cross Christian Academy while serving as the administrator over the past 8 years. She was a devout Christian and member of Alsbury Baptist Church. Kristy always put God, her children, family and her work first in her life. Kristy is preceded in death by her father, Cecil McMinn. She is survived by her children whom she was so proud of, Hannah and Caleb Werner; her loving mother, Janelle McMinn of Wichita Falls; 2 brothers, Rick McMinn and wife, Lori McMinn of the Woodlands and Greg McMinn and wife, Maria of Watauga and many extended family members and friends. Funral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Alsbury Baptist Church in Burleson. Interment: 2:30 P.M. Tuesday in Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue. Our prayers & sympathies to you at the passing of Kristy. I am deeply saddened to learn the news. She and I had a memorable high school friendship that lasted thru the years. Although we didn’t see each other much in later years, she had always held a special place in my heart…even today. Her smile, sense of humor and loving approach to life are memorable qualities I’ll always remember. Our condolences go out to Kristy’s family & especially to her 2 wonderful children Hannah & Caleb. She was an extraordinary Woman that touched so many lives. I consider myself very lucky to say that she was my kids’ principal & how she took on a Huge Responsibility & Probably an even bigger challenge the day she accepted that posisiton @ HCCA. She did what she loved & was very passionate about what she did & it showed. Mrs. Werner will always have a special place in my heart & my kids’ heart & will be deeply missed. I pray that The Lord gives Hannah & Caleb the strength & helps them get through this difficult time.

We feel blessed to have crossed paths at Holy Cross with such a wonderful women. May the peace of our God comfort and protect. She touched my son’s life in a real way. We won’t forget our moments together.

I keep remembering the first time I met Kristy less than 2 yrs ago. Her warmth and sincerity quickly gave me so much peace about my decision to place my child at HCCA, but even more meaningful was she had managed to almost instantly remove ALL the fear my daughter had about going to a new school, and that was HUGE. After a short visit, a tour of the school, & introducing us to my daughters new teacher, we left there KNOWING we were EXACTLY where God wanted us! I WILL FOREVER BE SO GRATEFUL TO HER FOR ALL THAT SHE WAS AND DID FOR MY DAUGHTER, ME, AND SO MANY OTHERS! Her legacy will truly live on FOREVER!
