Joseph Alcid Rutherford passed away in Dallas on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the age of 70. Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Burleson. Burial: 2 p.m. Thursday in DFW National Cemetery. Visitation: 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials: Joseph was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burleson. Donations to the First Baptist Church, Promises Ministry, in lieu of flowers would be appreciated. Joseph was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Saginaw, Mich. As a young man he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. After his military service he had careers in the food service industry and the uniform rental service industry. In 2009 Joseph retired from Aramark Uniform Services. Joseph was truly a family man. He loved spending time with his beautiful granddaughters. Peepaw’s specialty was teaching the girls to bake and cook. They also spent many hours at the zoo. Joseph was an honorable, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin J. Rutherford; and brother, Ervin W. Rutherford. Survivors: Wife, Linda; son, John; granddaughters, Aliyah and Rylee; mother, Betty Stoldt; brothers, Richard L. Rutherford and Daniel T. Rutherford; and sisters, Sandy Parker, Judith Ann Moss and Carol Harrison.
