Burleson,Texas John Fredrick MacDonald, 75, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012. John was born February 2,1937 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Norman Willis MacDonald and Ellen Bridget Butler. Was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS LST 983 as a radioman. He had worked for IBM for over 31 years in Cambridge,Massachusetts, Poughkeepsie, Kingston and Endicott, New York. Graduate of English High School, Boston, Massachusetts, Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts and Union College, Schenectady, New York. SURVIVORS: Wife of 51 years, Eleanor Long MacDonald; children, Diane M. MacDonald (Debora) of Boston, Massachusetts, William R. MacDonald of Azle, Texas and Joanne F. MacDonald of Edison, New Jersey. Grandchildren: Kelly J. MacDonald, Thomas J. MacDonald, Nicole D. Dua, Katharine D. MacDonald and Shane W. Dua. Surviving siblings: Francis N. MacDonald (Catherine), William R. MacDonald, Paul B. MacDonald and Ellen MacDonald Ford (Richard). Also sister-in-law Phyllis Calapai MacDonald, several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents, sisters: Mary MacDonald Cole and Elizabeth MacDonald Billard. John loved to bowl and study the stars. An avid Red Sox fan all his life.
