Jimmy Woodrow Singleton
FORT WORTH — FORT WORTH — Jimmy Woodrow Singleton, 71, was suddenly called home on Sunday February 12, 2012. Graveside Service: 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery; Visitation: 2:30-4:30 Thursday at the Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home in Burleson. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Cook Children’s Medical Center. Jimmy was born on February 16, 1940 in Alvarado, Texas to James Garfield and Lillie Katherine Singleton. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jimmy owned and operated a paint and body shop for many years, he took great pride in his work and skill. He later spent 3 years in Irag working for a private contractor driving trucks. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Garfield Robert Singleton and sister, Ima Lucas. Survivors: wife, Lynn; sons, Jimmy Jr. and wife, Paula and Jeffery; daughter, Karla Huckabee and husband, Kevin; brothers, Billy Joe Singleton and wife, Sue and Garry Singleton and wife, Melanie Kay; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Singleton, Chance Singleton, Casey Singleton, Nicholas Singleton, Kyler Huckabee, Kelsey Huckabee and Hayden Singleton; and 1 great grandchild, Maesey. neices and nephew, Sandra Hadley, Kelly “Skip” Lucas, Tanya Spurlock, Cynthia Roberson and Alysha Singleton.

  1. I met Jimmy in Iraq when I gave him his outside the wire check ride and worked with him. He not only showed me his skills as a driver but more importantly who he was. A good man a brave man someone anyone would be lucky to call friend. He will be missed.
