James R. McEwin , 76, of Coppell, TX passed away peacefully at his home Friday, October 2,2020 surrounded by his family. James was born August 27, 1944 in Paris, the oldest of four children born to Mack L. McEwin and Jean McEwin. James graduated from Wayland Baptist University, and went on to start various businesses. He worked at Sentry Insurance for over thirty years and retired in 1997. James was a kind and loving husband to his wife Kathy as well as an amazing father to their children, and an exceptional grandfather. He was strong in his faith and believed that everyday is a gift and a blessing from God. He was a man of faith, he was very active in his community, and was instrumental in the building of Buffalo Springs Lake Church where James and his family resided for many years. James is proceeded in death by his parents Mack L. McEwin and Jean McEwin , his wife Kathy D. McEwin, his daughter Kinda L. McEwin, brother Stephen R McEwin, and his sister Kathy (Cookie) McEwin. He is survived by his son, Matthew McEwin: daughters, Jamey Henson and husband Brandon, Jean Ann Ingram and husband Rodney, Keli Blassingame-Vargo and husband Alan, and Toni Blassingame; his sister, Susan McEwin and wife Leanne of Dallas,Tx. His grandchildren Christopher Fowler and wife Jennifer, Kirstin Collins, Brayden Lusk, Gabrielle Henson, and Christian McEwin, and Great gradaughter Emma Fowler. There will be a private memorial for his family per his final wishes.
