BURLESON — GB Watson completed his magnificent 81 years of life on February 19, 2009. Memorials: Donations may be sent to the Samaritan House 929 Hemphill St. Fort Worth, Texas 76104 in care of GB Watson Jr. GB was born in 1927 in Alpena Pass Arkansas and was the son of Jess and Ethel Watson. While studying physical education at Teachers College in Conway Arkansas, GB met Shirley Carol Gray and was permanently smitten for 58 years. Shirley accepted GB’s sweet proposal on September 6, 1950 and they immediately headed to California to build their dream life. After two distinguished tours of duty, one in the Seabees and one in the army, GB was employed by General Dynamics San Diego in 1951 and began a life long career in aerospace. As a liaison engineer, he was especially proud of his decade with the Apollo Space Program team in Huntsville Alabama. He received an award from the NASA astronauts that achieved the first manned lunar landing. GB retired from Lockheed in Fort Worth in 1996 and spent his remaining years with his beloved Shirley Watson.
