Emily B Utz
Emily Utz, a Christian woman, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed into the arms of the Lord on February 4, after an extended illness. Emily was born in Buffalo, NY, in August, 1925. She married Roger Utz in 1947 and moved to Texas in 1949. She was involved in many charitable activities at every parish she lived in, most recently at St Mark’s in Denton. She loved swimming, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and playing cards and dominos with her family. Rosary will be recited at on February 10 at 10:30 am at St Joseph’s Catholic Church at 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd in Arlington, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00. Burial will be with her late husband of 61 years, Roger, at the National Cemetery in Dallas. She is survived by her children – Mary Anne Whitecotton, Linda and Scott McDonnold, Michael Utz, Don Utz, her grandchildren – Trey and September Gabbert, Emily and Brent KenCairn, Rachael Herrick, Robert Utz, Alicia Herrick, and Savannah Utz, two great-grandchildren – Nathaniel and Maggie KenCairn, many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. The family would like to thank New Hope Hospice for their tender and compassionate care for our Mom in the last few weeks of her life.  Also the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living facility for their loving care for our Mom in the last year of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the St Vincent de Paul conference at St Joseph’s Catholic Church at the above address.
