What is Direct Cremation?

Direct CremationDirect cremation, which is also called immediate cremation, refers to the process in which your deceased loved one is transferred directly to the crematory. There is no service before the cremation. Some families may chose to have a memorial service after. Others chose to honor their loved one privately at a location that was cherished by the deceased. Either way, if you are interested in immediate cremation for you or your loved one, Lone Star Cremation can help you make the arrangements.

Benefits of Direct Cremation

You or your loved one may choose direct cremation for many reasons. One is that it is less expensive than other funeral services. Because preparing the body to be shown isn’t necessary, the cost is drastically reduced. Also, it is sometimes easier for families to say goodbye to their loved one at a familiar place. Because cremation is simply speeding up nature’s process of turning the body to ash, some individuals want to dictate where those ashes lay to rest. You may make a request to your family to have this carried out. In the absence of direction, some families chose to bury or scatter their loved one’s ashes in locations they believed were loved by the deceased.

Our Direct Cremation Package

At Lone Star Cremation, we offer many benefits in our direct cremation services package. If your loved one is in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, we will pick them up and bring them to our crematory. We provide a temporary, heavy-walled cardboard container with a lid that will hold your loved one inside our refrigerated facility until cremation. In addition, we take care of the permits, authorizations, and filings that are required for cremation to take place. All this is included in the direct cremation package price.

Our direct cremation services package also includes online cremation services. All of your arrangements can be done online, eliminating the need for you or your family to visit the funeral home.
