Different Types of Cremation Urns

When the decision for cremation has been made, the question then becomes where to place the remains. There are different types of cremation urns available for virtually every taste.

Crafted Excellence

These include wooden urns, which can be something like oak, mahogany, ample or cherry, while metal urns that give a nod to either creativity or simplicity are also available.

Those looking to exit in regal fashion can be provided urns made of crystal, porcelain or glass. However, if the deceased’s personality was more on the artistic side, these can be represented in statuaries, sculptures and either ceramic, marble and cloisonné urns. The latter two come in a variety of colors.

The Great Outdoors

An individual who loved the land can remain there forever within urns placed in a garden area, providing them with a serene afterlife. They can also forever stay in the memory of family through something like wind chimes.

Those who plan to scatter the deceased’s ashes elsewhere also have a wealth of options, from basic or functional to a more creative approach.

A Final Salute

Serving your country is a noble sacrifice and is something that many veterans have a deep pride in showing. That can be commemorated through urns connected to honoring those armed service members.

Together Forever

Couples who are reunited in death can have their ashes placed in companion urns so that they’re never far away from each other.

With regard to the tragic loss of a child or infant, this can be acknowledged through Keepsake urns that are pink or blue, depending on gender. Infants can also be remembered in subtle, but touching ways. Keepsakes can also take the form of jewelry or some other creative aspect.

Practicality

Other potential considerations can be environmental in nature, through the use of biodegradable urns, as well remains that can use those of a temporary nature when being brought back via airplane.

One Response

  1. It got me when you said that the loved one can be placed in an urn that is situated in the garden if they enjoy the outdoors because they can be forever united with the one they love. Actually, the loved one I am talking about is my pet dog Loki. He loves the garden so much he sleeps there sometimes. I think it will be best if I kept his ashes in an urn in the garden as you suggested.
