Delmer Joe Wood, 85, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2008 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 am Tuesday at Flamingo Road Church of Christ, 5401 Flamingo Road, Fort Worth. Visitation 6-8PM Monday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Burial: 2:00 PM Tuesday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cooper. Delmer was born in 1923 in Henderson. He married Christine Grant from Cooper in 1944. They moved around the state until they settled in Fort Worth where he lived for the remainder of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Maggie Wood and his wife of 61 years in 2007. Survivors: daughters, Helen Shepard and husband Mike of Watauga and Shirley Hunt and husband Phil of Burleson; son, James Wood and wife Pamela of Garland; sisters, Thelma Miller of Eugene, Oregon and Joyce Miller of Seymour; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
