Danice N May
Danice May, born in Athens, TX on August 12, 1936, peacefully passed away in Mesquite, TX at the Christian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on the morning of April 6th, 2024. She spent the majority of her adult life in her cherished East Mountains region of New Mexico. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Estancia, New Mexico, Danice will be fondly remembered for her unwavering commitment to nurturing lifelong friendships, serving as a compassionate caregiver, her passion for genealogy, her beautiful singing voice, love of music, and most notably, her joyful and infectious laughter. Danice is survived by her stepdaughter Jodi Taylor, nieces and nephews Shawna Popp, Ben Norris, Bethany Norris, Lucy Norris, David Norris, Joshua Norris, Hayley Loertscher, Rob Smith, and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Horace D. May, her parents Reuben and Mary Norris, and her brothers Donald, Dwight, and Dahrell Norris. A graveside interment ceremony to honor Danice will be held at a date to be determined at the Davis Cemetery in Athens, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests honoring Danice’s memory through acts of kindness, fostering friendships, and charitable donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Danice May will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
