It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Billy Ray Neely. He was born February 28th, 1936, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, to Curtis Boyd and Ila Victoria Neely. Billy passed from this world on January 25th, 2024, at age 87. He had 4 children, and was preceded in death by his son Billy Neely Jr. and daughter Victoria Tarver. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ivone Neely, daughters Paula and husband Jerl Stone, and Elizabeth Neely and husband Mark Richards. Billy had 9 grandchildren; Steve Holland, Jody Seiler, Natasha Berry, Luz Olivarez, Jordan Burbank, Stephanie Neely, Nick Garner, Michael Garner, and Kaz Richards. He has 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving of 8 siblings in the Neely family. Billy and Ivone moved to Dallas, Texas in 1954, and raised their children in Arlington. He was an Army Reservist and a Mason. He was hardworking and had many different jobs as a young man before working as a tool and die engineer for 35 years, as well as being a master mechanic and owning his own automotive shop. He was curious by nature; being not afraid to try new things. He had many friends and loved ones that he helped throughout the years. He lived a long life surrounded by those close to him, never meeting a stranger. Billy’s celebration of life will be a private service.
