  2. Bernard was a great guy and a good friend. I am very sorry about your loss. I will miss Bernard’s wise counsel , his keen wit and his droll sense of humor. His companionship would always lighten the grind of a hectic day at the courthouse.

  3. My condolences to the family. I am just now hearing about the death of Bernard. I was out of town for months dealing with the loss of my own father; I was so looking forward to seeing him again soon when i returned to town per our last conversation . My heart is heavy I loved him as a long time friend and a will miss him. My God Bless you all and your in my prayers.

  4. I recently learned of Bernard’s death and offer my sincerely condolence. My sister, Tina, and I were friends of his and of Arthur at Zion Lutheran Church in El Paso. We enjoyed going to Ascarate Lake on a picnic with Bernard’s mother and Bernard and Arthur. Bernard had a great sense of humor, friendly personality and we enjoyed talking. It’s been so long ago, I wish I could remember more. My sister, Tina Pasanen (married name, Christine Morris), passed away in 2008 in a bus crash in Mexico, but I know she too would have remembered Bernard warmly.

  5. To the Sutherland family. I went to high school with Bernard. We had several outings to UTEP as high school students. He was a kind young man. I remember we both liked “Easy like Sunday morning”. Our paths took a different route and lost contact with each other. A high school alumni group notified me of his passing.
