Benjamin Soloman Putnam
Funeral Service for Ben S. “Put” Putnam 89, of Keene, will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church. Visitation will be held from 6-9 PM, Wednesday, at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home, of Cleburne. Mr. Putnam, a retired electric service company owner, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2004 at his residence, in Keene. He was born October 29, 1915, in El Campo, Texas, the son of Charles and Linney Cochran Putnam. He married Helen Grace Bryan, June 25, 1936. She preceded him in death, December 3, 2002 after 66 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Linney Cochran Putnam and Charles De Witt Putnam; sister, Ruth Evelyn; twin grandchildren, Andria and Anthony Putnam; brothers-in-law, Harry and Robert Bryan. He is survived by one son, Jere Putnam and wife, Karen and one daughter, Scottie Gayle East and husband, James, all of Keene; five grandchildren, Jere Wayne Putnam, II, Rodney, Robin, Randy East, Marissa Nolasco and four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua East and Eric and Emily Nolasco; brother, Frank Putnam, of Cocoa, Florida. Memorials may be made to the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church Television Ministries.

    1. This year in 2023 I am honoring Ben Putnam by having council name the fire station after him. He was our first fire chief and fire marshal, loved fire service and helping others. So, this is a fitting tribute.
