Barbara Ketcham
On Sunday, May 17, 2020, Barbara Ann Moore Ketcham, loving mom to 3 and Memaw to countless, went to be with the Lord at age 78. Barbara was born on September 15, 1941 in Iredell, TX to Roy and Opal Moore. As a teen, Barbara loved drag racing and fast cars. She never lost that love of adventure and thrill seeking. She was a natural risk taker who lived her life to the fullest. Her daddy told her as a young girl, “Anything a man can do, you can do better,” and she took that to heart. Barbara was a trendsetter for women in business by running HOW and Telegenics, earning a hefty salary for a woman during that time. She was an entrepreneur at heart. In her late 50s, Barbara sold everything, bought a camper, and traveled America painting and selling boots. 10 years later she settled down and started antiquing when she bought an old hospital in Hamilton, TX and turned it into an antique mall. Barbara spent her retirement gardening and garage saleing and maybe included a few dumpster dives. She loved taking her children, grandchildren, and even her great grandchildren on these hilarious adventures. Barbara will most be remembered for always being ready to have a good time and go off on an adventure. She was spunky and full of spit-fire until the very end. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean. She is survived by her daughter Sharleen and husband Tony Graves of Burleson, TX, daughter Cindy and husband Jeff Mersberger of Burleson, TX, son Larry Tow of TX, grandchildren Tiffany Hughes, Jana Dodd, Sunshine and husband Chris Emery, David Bradley, Ashley and husband Daniel Hornback, Sean and wife Shu Siewinski, Gia Smith, Brittany Bradley and Ben Jackson, Dylan Tow, Amber Mersberger, and Madison Mersberger, great-grandchildren Jewelia Sky, Anjelica, Landon, Morgan, Kristen, Kayden, Chaz, Carson, Camden, Jeremiah, Ava Grace, Joshua, Layla, Cooper, Maddox, Jaxon, Nova, and Ocean and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 23 at Daniel and Ashley Hornback’s home. The family requests that you wear purple, Barbara’s favorite color, or any bright and festive colors to celebrate a colorful person. ATTENDANCE WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES. The celebration will be live-streamed for those who are unable to attend.

  5. My heart is with your family during this sad time. I met Barbara 7+ years ago through, of all things, “words with friends”…she and I just clicked, as if a kid from somewhere in Texas met another kid from Scranton Pennsylvania by way of NY and Houston! I was an RN retired at the time and sweet Barbara needed her higher power to give her a friend that knew what I knew, from that point on we were friends for life…I have never been wrong when it comes to picking good people and I hope, when it’s my turn to go to Heaven, I find Barbara and we make some noise❤️
