Norma Juliette (Strand) Seekon
Norma Juliette (Strand) Seekon passed away peacefully surrounded by family in hospice on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Ft. Worth, Texas after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Stanley Seekon and is survived by her two sons, David & wife Vicki Seekon (Eric & Victoria) and Craig & wife Jennifer Seekon (Kaylee, Gavin and Ella), and a daughter, Kelley & husband Lloyd Fannin (Jason & Nicholas). Also survived by brother David, sisters; Harriet, Caroline and Virginia. Norma lived a long life and was born in North Dakota in 1925 to Hans Strand and Mabel (Olson) Strand where grew up in Madison, Minnesota – later moved to Minneapolis, MN. She was married to Ted in 1948; the couple was longtime residents of Columbia Heights, Minnesota. They eventually retired to Ocala, Florida in 1986. Shortly after Ted’s death Norma moved to Ft. Worth, Texas in 2010 to be near family. Private services were held with the family, the remains to be interred at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, along with husband Ted. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Emery J. Lilge Hospice House of Ft. Worth, Texas.

  5. I grew up in Madison, Minn., just down the block from the Strands when they lived on 1st Ave. I was a year younger than Harriet and maybe 2 years older than Norma. I was there for their wedding, etc., in Mpls. My daughter and I also visited Norma and Ted when they lived in Ocala. I

    I knew that she had moved to Texas and that is aoubt when I lost contact with her. I will probably give a donation to the place listed, but right now have things on my mind, so will wait a few days. Sincerely, Lil Hagg

  9. Dave & Vicki- I am so sorry to hear of Norma’s passing. It is truly a blessing she will be in heaven and the pains of age are now gone. I know when your last parent passes it feels like you are all alone. I pray you will lean on each other and stay strong together. We love you both!

  15. So many nice comments. I have not looked at this in a very long time. It is sad when the last of our 4 parents passed. We will always remember Ted and Norma Seekon. Parents of David, Kelley, Craig.
