Reginald Patten Ferrell
Reginald Patten Ferrell went home to be with The Lord on Friday, April 4, 2014.  He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.  His home going celebration of life service will be Sunday, April 13th at 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 2425 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be directed to the Lamar University Band programs in memory of Reginald Ferrell, c/o Lamar University, P. O. Box 10011, Beaumont, Texas.  Online gifts can be made at www.lamar.edu.  Reginald was born in Houston and eventually moved to Port Neches where he helped his was parents to build the family home where he grew up.  As a young man, he served the altar at Holy Trinity.  He was a proud graduate of PNG High School in 1961, and went on to graduate from Lamar University with a BA in Communications.  It was there at Lamar where he met his beloved wife Marianne sitting next to him in the trumpet section.  They married in May of 1965, and this year would have celebrated 49 years of marriage.   Reg spent some time up north working for various companies in sales.  In 1981, he returned to Texas and settled in Arlington where he started his own business The Training Station, he was a consultant for companies like Libby Glassware and Suzuki Motors.  As a lifelong lover of music, he served in the trumpet section of his church orchestra.  He was a supportive father faithfully cheering on his daughter in the marching band.  Reg had a laugh that brought joy to any room.  He was a spirit filled Christian whose generosity and love were known to many.  To his friends, Reggie always looked like fun coming your way with a smile on his face and joke in his pocket, he was sure to make you smile.  In the months prior to his stroke, he was thrilled to move in with his daughter Falicia and her husband Craig, where he fondly enjoyed their love and companionship.  He was a public speaker, ventriloquist, evangelist, radio DJ, TV broadcaster, salesman, writer, and educator.  He lived his life bright and colorful much like the lights on the stages where he performed, and as the stage goes dark, his family and friends will always remember his vitality and spirit that touched so many.  Reginald leaves to cherish his memories a precious wife Marianne Ferrell, daughters Amberley Ferrell and Falicia Cartwright, and son-in-law Craig Cartwright, granddaughters Katharine Grieser and Lindsay Cartwright, his loving mother Frances Ferrell-Huber, brother Mike Ferrell and sister-in-law Susan Ferrell, and niece Jessica Ferrell-Boehlke, many close friends, and his loving dog Ashes.  He is preceded in death by his father Fred Ferrell, and stepfather George Huber.
