John H Westerhouse
John H Westerhouse Passed peacefully on January 26th, 2017 Born August 26, 1938, in Bangor Township, Michigan, Predeceased by his parents, Herman and Violet Westerhouse and brothers, Sam and Richard, John is survived by his wife, Barbara Westerhouse of Venus, TX and sister Wilma Butcher of Lake Mary FL, four children; Tammy, Greg, Brian and Billy and five step-children; Rebecca, Scott, Kristi, Matthew and Marshall. And numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John, joined the Air National Guard at 15 years of age and once he was truly old enough to enlist, promptly joined the USAF. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his love of tinkering and building things, from model airplanes and model cars to muscle cars and Triumph motorcycles. You could always find him in his garage creating a special place for each and every tool, which of course, with one quick glance he would know instantly if one was missing. He carried that love of building into a decades long career with DyneCorp Aeronautics. John loved a good joke, camping at the beach at Pt Mugu, California and anything chocolate. We will miss him A celebration of John’s life will be held at Mansfield Activities Center, 106 S Wisteria, Mansfield, TX 76063 on February 11th, 2017 from 11am – 2pm Condolences for the family may be offered at www.lonestarcremation.com

  1. My ‘first’ memory of you was you chasing me and Tom around Mom’s coffee table. My ‘favorite’ memory was being able to call on you for any and all car problems. YOU were my go to person, even when I ran out of gas, ALL the time. Also, the 4th of July weekends at Point Magu Beach camping. Great memories.
I will miss just knowing you were there.
    Love you. Will miss you.
P.S. remember how much you absolutely hated RICE!…
See you on the other side.

  2. Barbarba and Wilma. We are so sorry for your loss. John was a great guy and funny too. Our prayers are with you and the family. Love always, the Sulak family
