  5. My Dearest Wilma,

I love you very much. The memories we have of you are like treasures. We won’t keep them locked away in a vault. We will keep them locked away in our hearts. Thank you for being such a wonderful Mother-In-Law. Thank you for taking me in and making me one of your own. Thank you for raising my husband into the wonderful man he is today. Thank you for being such a wonderful Grandmother to my Children. They wouldn’t be the people they are without your influence. My family feels your loss too. You made all of them feel special and that is just one of many reasons they all loved you so much. You always treated everyone with love, kindness and respect. I don’t know how to let you go. I don’t know how to say goodbye. You were the calm in my every storm. You always had the words to say to keep me from losing it. I could use some of those words now. You were a wonderful person with a beautiful soul. The world was a better place for having you here. Now Heaven is your home. We will always love and miss you!

  9. Dear Wilma,

A lot has happened since you left us. You have three more great grandchildren, one who went to Heaven with you. I was thinking all night last night, how are we going to take care of these babies without you?

You always had all the answers to everything. And now, I have so many questions and I can’t call you. I’ve tried a couple of times. I freaked out when your phone called back.

It was a good idea making your voice recordings that day in the hospital. Every time my Grandson is cranky and fighting sleep, I play your message to him and he immediately stops crying. I know people think it was strange for me to get you to make those recordings but, I’m glad I did. I have just a little piece of you.

You were not only my Mother-In-Law, You were my best friend. You were the best Mother-In-Law I could have asked for and I’m so thankful you were mine. I just hope I can be half the Mother-In-Law you were. I learned many lessons from you.

I still don’t know how to say goodbye to you. It’s been 6 months and we are all still walking around in a daze. We are thankful your suffering is over but, we are selfish and want you here with us. I wouldn’t take you back unless you could be healthy.

I wish you were here to see these babies. You would be so in love. They are so precious. And each one a gift from God. These babies are going to miss out on so much because you aren’t here. I’m trying to keep your songs and games alive with my Grandson. They would be so much better if you were here to sing and play them.

We miss you so much. So much is happening and we are having to learn to fly without you. I pray we can make it without you. I also pray that you are with all the loved ones that went before you. Please kiss my baby and my sister for me. I love and miss you so much! I can’t wait to see you in my dreams. I love you!
