Travis Pruitt Mayfield
Travis Pruitt Mayfield passed away suddenly on January 9, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas as a result of respiratory failure. He was born on October 13, 1932 in Gause, Texas to Ernest RV Mayfield and Johnny Irene Dumas. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Marion, Donnie, Sam and Lewis. Survivors include wife Ramona Tate Mayfield, children James Lee Mayfield and wife Elizabeth of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, Carrie Diane Mayfield of Fort Worth, Texas and stepdaughter Ramona Michelle Olivo of Fairbanks, Alaska; sisters Vivian E. Chapman of Sacramento, California and Verna Brown of Bryan, Texas; grandchildren Leah, Laura, Lindsay, Kaylee and Courtney, Ashley, and Kalista plus 15 greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a round and square dance enthusiast for many years and was active in several different clubs. He was employed by Premier Amusements for over 30 years finally retiring at the age of 82. When asked how he was feeling his pat answer would be “with my fingers” as he would rub them together. And you NEVER shook hands with him unless your feet were planted firmly on a flat surface! Trav was a Christian and loved his church family dearly. He gave great hugs and encouragement. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday January 15, 2021 at Bethesda Baptist Church in Burleson, Texas
