Tommy Lee Vandagriff
Burleson ~ Tommy Lee Vandagriff 67, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 after a long illness. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 380 NW Tarrant Ave in Burleson, TX. Tommy was born in McKinney Texas June 9, 1945 to James Roe and Jewel Irene Vandagriff. Tommy attended Poly High School in Fort Worth. He was in the Army for 2 years receiving an honorable discharge after an automobile accident. He grew up in Fort Worth and moved to Burleson in 1974. In his early years of employment Tommy worked for various funeral homes in the Fort Worth area as an ambulance driver. He also worked for LTV for a short period of time.  He became a fire fighter at the Greater Southwest Airport in Fort Worth and later worked at Meacham Field in fire and rescue. Tommy was also an accomplished farrier. He retired from the city of Fort Worth. Tommy was preceded in death by his Father James Roe, his Mother Jewel Irene and his brother Jimmy. In 2004 he married Jennifer whom he adored.  Jennifer went above and beyond the call of “wife” taking care of Tommy while he was ill. A memorial celebration of life will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 380 NW Tarrant Ave in Burleson, TX. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jennifer, Daughters Tina & Patti, Brother Bill and his wife Sondra. He also had three grandchildren, Lauren, Deavon & Shelby and one great grandchild Avery. Tommy was a very caring & loving person.  He would do anything in the world for his friends and family.  He was always laughing and telling jokes.  He was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed.

  1. I remember Tommy from Poly high school. He was a good guy. Very sorry to hear that he is gone.
