Thomas Earl Johnson (Tommy)
Thomas Earl Johnson, 83, of Fort Worth Texas went to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 8, 2021, due to a 7 year battle with Scleroderma. Tommy was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family and friends. He loved his church home in Tyler Texas, Green Acres Baptist where he and Sandy were members for 20 years. Tommy spent 27 years at Murdock Machine and Engineering. He was an accomplished aerospace welder with hundreds of special certifications one being a certified heliarc welder. In his younger years he enjoyed cabinet making. He loved woodworking; his attention to detail was apparent in everything he did. He loved to laugh and his sense of humor was contagious. He loved sitting and visiting with family and friends, playing cards and a good game of 42, camping and camp fires were one of his favorite hobbies along with morning coffee. He loved the smell of fresh cut grass and morning coffee. He took great pride in his home and yard. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sandra Johnson (Sandy) of Fort Worth, Tx; his daughter Shari and husband Ty Locke of Euless Tx, grandson Clinton Bradley Locke (Brad) of Euless Tx, granddaughter Lacy Locke and Sean Bloch of Bedford Texas, his only great granddaughter Emma Baker, his brother Don Johnson, his brother in law Arlon Gaither, and several nephews and nieces and many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Emma Johnson; his sister Mona Gaither. There will be a Committal Service with Army military honors held at DFW National Cemetery on April 23, 2021 at 9:15 a.m. A celebration of his life to follow at the home of his daughter and son in law Ty and Shari Locke 805 Chipwood Ct. Euless, Tx 76039. The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation in his name to Green Acres Baptist Church Missions, 1607 Troup Hwy, Tyler Tx 75701.

  1. When Tommy and Sandy was back in Tyler they were part of our SS class at Green Acres. Tommy was someone I looked forward to seeing each Sunday. We all missed them when they left. Tommy was a good friend and we all will miss him. We will continue to pray for you Sandy. GOD IS GOOD
