Theresa Potts
Theresa Lynn Potts of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, after an 8-month battle with metastatic pancreatic cancer, at 58 years of age. Theresa lived a vibrant, active life with no health issues until this diagnosis. She died with the same grace, dignity, strength, and peace with which she lived. Though Theresa is no longer with us, it would be wrong to say that she lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined to actively engage with those she loved. When anyone else would have broken, Theresa stayed strong, modeling strength for the rest of us. There was no quit in Theresa, and through her, we now know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. A devout daughter, wife, and mother, Theresa is survived by her husband Ronald (Ronny) Alan Potts, daughter Abby Belen Potts, son Ronald Zachary (Zach) Potts and daughter-in-law Victoria Potts, son K.C. Potts, and brother Jimmy Sims. She is preceded in death by her father, James Sims, and her beloved mother, Belen Sims, who died only months before her of the same illness. Theresa lived life with vigor and a sense of fun, and in the days leading up to her death, she made us promise we would send her off accordingly. At her request, we will be having a celebration of life with details to follow. Her ashes will be scattered at a future date on, or near, her favorite beach.
