Sharon Kay "Meme" Black
Sharon Kay “Meme” Black, 73, of Everman went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2016. Sharon was born to William Bonis Hooser and Helen Blanche Marlow on October 20, 1942. She grew up in Memphis, TX with brother Jerry Hooser and Vicki Smith. Sharon married Don Black in Memphis in 1961 and moved to Stephenville where daughter, Michelle was born. She spent time in various other Texas towns including Marshall, TX where daughter, Shari was born traveling with Don’s job. Sharon eventually landed in Everman in the early 70s where daughter, Tonya was born and she lived for the last forty-three years. Sharon spent most of her life raising children/grandchildren of her own and mentoring others children. She worked at various childcare facilities in Everman and Hallmark until she opened her own home based child care facility in the 80s. Many a children experienced Sharon’s love and antics. She loved to teach, sing and cut up with kids. She taught so many their colors, their ABCs, to talk, to walk, weaned them from pacifiers or bottles and potty trained all her grandchildren (thanks, mom). Sharon loved the holidays, all holidays, and decorated the entire house for every one of them. Sharon liked to sew and create cloths for the grand-kids as well as dresses for her infinite collection of Barbies. Sharon had many great sayings that mostly kept us laughing but often kept us guessing. Her favorite flower and color are orchid. She liked to shop, to eat out (usually Mexican food), spend time with family and friends and she loved all things, Elvis Presley. Sharon is survived by daughters Michelle Black, of Fort Worth, Shari Baker and husband Dale of Crowley, Tonya Black-Mayrer and husband Kevin of Alvarado, grandchildren, Kalah Black, Hunter Baker and girlfriend Heather Hood, Hayden Baker, Stori Mayrer, Taia Mayrer, great-grandchildren, Cy Torres, Landon Baker and Rylan Pippin, her baby sister, Vicki Smith and husband Steve of San Angelo, four nephews, four great- nephews, close friend Andy Mullins and numerous friends that she loved like family. Sharon was preceded in death by her former husband, Don Black, her parents Bonis and Blanche Hooser, her brother Jerry Hooser, several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Sharon’s service will be Friday, March 4, 2016, 2 pm at Mayfield Kiser Funeral home in Burleson, TX, graveside will immediately follow at Laurel Land on Crowley Road in Fort Worth. Sharon is truly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
