Rodney William McComas
FORT WORTH — Rodney William McComas, 66, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Thursday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home in Burleson. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. Rod was born on December 27, 1945 in Huntington, West Virginia to George William McComas and Opal Matilda Starkey McComas. He loved his family, especially the time spent hunting with his grandsons, and the annual Christmas Breakfast that he would prepare for his family. Rod was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Rod proudley served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Survivors: Wife of 27 years, Jennine; daughters, Tesha Ferguson and Jill Backus; son, Rodney William McComas Jr.; stepson, Scott Bertelsman; one brother, Mike McComas; two sisters, Patti Holley and Sue Cobb; and seven grandsons, Garrett, Nathan and Patrick Ferguson, Cody and Logan Backus and Ethan and Riley Hogan.

    I mentioned to him hunting on the Elk River, and he got a big Grin ! he truly knew all about it!

  5. We are saddned by the news of Rod’s passing. We enjoyed him on our hunting lease and Demps enjoyed the breakfast he fixed for the hunters on the opening day of deer hunting.
