The Salt Urn is individually hand-crafted by skilled artisans from solid blocks of Himalayan Rock Salt. The salt deposits in this region are over 250 million years old and are believed to be the purest on earth.

As a result of the hand-made and natural qualities of the Salt Urn, each is unique in both color and finish. In addition, it is natural for crystals to form on the exterior of the urn in humid climates. If this is the case with the salt urn that you have purchased, it can be gently wiped with a damp, clean cloth and lightly sanded with a fine sand paper if necessary.

The Salt Urn will sink quickly and dissolve within 4 hours when placed in water. When buried, the urn will biodegrade within three months.

Each urn comes with a biodegradable bag and tie for the cremated remains to be placed in, before being placed inside the urn. To temporarily seal the the lid of the urn, squeeze a bead of non-toxic paper/wood glue (not included) onto the inside lip of the lid. Replace lid and wipe away excess glue with a clean, damp cloth. Allow 10-12 hours for the glue to dry.

Federal regulations must be followed when placing urn at sea. (No closer than 3 nautical miles from shore)

This urn is fragile and should be handled with care to avoid potential damage. Always lift the urn from beneath, with two hands.
