Patsy Woodard
FORT WORTH — Patsy Ruth Callaway Woodard, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, 23 days after her husband’s death. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Everman. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Pat was born Feb. 17, 1932, to Samuel Carlyle and Ruth Mae Tucker Callaway in Duncan, Okla. She retired from the General Services Administration in June 1994. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting plaster figurines and playing domino games. Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care given by Cindy Ross, RN, and Clarissa Lee, CNA, with Hospice Plus. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Paul; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.C. Callaway. Survivors: Son, Sam Woodard and wife, Vicki; daughters, Patti Watts and husband, Travis, and Gina Blenden and husband, Phil; brother, Wayne Callaway and wife, Sandra; brother-in-law, Dewey Woodard and wife, Alice; grandchildren, J.P. Woodard, Lauren Dereta, Brandon Blenden, Mary Watts, Jessica Rodriguez and Megan Watts; five great-grandchildren; five nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and her beloved canine companions.

  1. I am so sorry, you had to lose your precious mother so soon after your father’s passing. Sixty years is a very long time for a couple to be together and then be separated by illness and then death. They are together again, even if it is so hard for their children and grandchildren.
