Nancy Dodson Opperman
BURLESON – Nancy Dodson Opperman, born Jan. 6, 1935, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2016, while surrounded by her family. Service: 2 p.m., Thursday, August 4, at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Burial: immediately following at the Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 1 p.m. Thursday, August 4, prior to service. Nancy was a secretary for the Fort Worth ISD and served as a hostess for the Miss Texas Pageants for many years. She was a talented seamstress and cook, as well as a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alvarado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bernice Dodson, and her sister Margie Thies. Survivors: Nancy is survived by her husband, Richard W. Opperman; sons Richard Jr., Jeff, and Scott; daughters-in-law Debbie, Ginger, Lorri and Paulina; grandchildren, Lauren (and Robert) Johnson, Nancy Lynne Opperman, Case (and Jenna) Opperman and Eric (and Holly) Opperman; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Alexandria and Olivia Johnson; brothers, Clyde Jr. “Bud” and Jim “Doc;” and sister Jane Wilkinson.
