Mary Helen Cole
BURLESON — Mary Cole, 84, unexpectantly passed from our hands to God’s arms on Sunday April 10, 2011. Graveside Service: 11:00 A.M. Friday at Emerald Hills Memorial Park in Kennedale, Karl Jones will officiate. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home in Burleson. Mary was born in Lometa, Texas to William Thomas Cornelius and Willie May Hall on April 25, 1926. She married Jesse Floyd Cole in 1946, raising two boys, Barry and Terry. Mary was a great wife, mother, and “Memaw” to her grandchildren. She loved her family dearly, and loved to have long conversations with them. She had many lifelong friends, including Winnie and Jack Maloney. Mary was a lifelong member of The Church of Christ, last worshiping at Burleson Church of Christ. Her family will miss holidays with her, as she always went all out. She was the best cook and housekeeper ever known, as well as an artist and plant lover. She read voraciously, loving biographies and true crime. The Bible was by far her favorite book. Colorado was her favorite destination and Mexican Inn her favorite restaurant. She will be missed and is irreplaceable, but is now with her precious Floyd, who passed away in April 2005. Survivors: son, Barry, wife Elisa, grandchildren Kristen and Jordan, son Terry Cole and wife Patricia, sisters Dorothy Whalen and Frieda Walker, special nieces, Tammy Herndon, Kara Wittmayer and Kathy Pope; special nephews, Andy Whalen and Brent Walker. She leaves many other family and friends to grieve her loss.

  1. Mary Helen was such a sweetheart. We loved her dearly. We always loved to visit her and Floyd. She always showed us such a wonderful time. My mother (Melba) and grandmother (Verna) always thought she was the greatest! I am so glad that I got to see her one last time at the Cousin’s Reunion in June. She was as special as ever–such a dear and so generous with her love and affection. Will love her always!
