Mary Giles
Mary M. Giles, 59, of Lewisville, TX passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at her home. She was born to Ethel and Raymond Dorrett on August 2, 1961. Predeceased by her husband, Bob in 2008; her parents Ethel & Raymond; siblings Katherine Bliven, Earl Clark Jr, Richard Clark, Nancy Chapman, Donna Prince, and Chas Clark. Mary is survived by her daughter, Chera Hurst; son-in-law, Jordan, and granddaughter Madalynn (Madee) Grace; her brother, Teddy Clark; sister, Bonnie Dannheim; as well as countless nieces and nephews, many of who were like siblings to her and many friends that were like family to her. She has also left behind her beloved dogs, Harley and Lilly. Mary grew up and was raised in Bolivar, NY where she married her beloved Bob – Robert L. Giles on August 9, 1980. She and Bob married young and spent much of their time chasing adventure and dreams. This took them to Taft, CA where their daughter, Chera was born in 1981. After briefly returning to NY, they also lived in Tallahassee, FL, where they fell in love with the beaches on the Emerald Coast. They finally settled in Denton, TX in 1995 where they lived life to the fullest and loved life on a Harley Davidson. After Bob’s passing in 2008, Mary returned to Tallahassee, FL, and upstate NY for a few years before heading back to Texas. She worked at OneSource Virtual, where she made numerous lifelong friendships. Mary loved to spend the day by the pool, lathered in Australian Gold tanning lotion and she enjoyed live music with good friends. Mary’s proudest moment in life was the day her granddaughter, Madee was born. She never thought she would get to be a grandmother, and she was the best Memaw anyone could ask for. The family will have a private ceremony next summer to scatter Mary’s ashes along with her husband, Bob’s. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Toys for Tots or the ASPCA. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.lonestarcremation.com.

  1. Mary will be dearly missed. She was always someone I could vent to at work when things just weren’t right. I was very saddened to hear of her passing and praying for her family that they find peace during this difficult time.
