Marilyn Barnett
BURLESON – Marilyn G. Barnett loving wife, mom, Mamaw, sister and friend passed away August 26, 2013. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Visitation 6 – 8 PM, Wednesday, August 28, 2013, and Funeral Service 11 AM, August 29, 2013, Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Burial, 1:15 PM, Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Dallas / Fort Worth National Cemetery. Marilyn was born July 23, 1943, in Granite City, IL to Lee Whitehair, and Clara Smith. She later relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where she met Jim who would become her husband of 44 years on March 3, 1966. Together they raised two sons, Rusty and Chance, welcomed their daughter-in-laws, Caky and Nikki, and adored their grandchildren, Carrie Beth and husband Ben, Cody, Lezlie and Courtney and husband Taylor, and great grandson Wade Barnett Wallace. Marilyn loved to laugh,  spend time with her grandchildren and above all else she loved to dance with Jim, and spend time with the many friends she cherished dearly. Marilyn was an active member of the Widowed Person Services of Tarrant County where she helped with outreach to many friends over the last several years. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her father, her mother, and her sister Helen, SURVIVORS: Son Rusty and wife Caky, son Chance and wife Nikki, 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister Dorothy Buhr; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
